Why book direct
Booking direct at SilverStar means dealing with the owner, not a reseller. You can confirm what matters for a ski trip before you arrive: how close the door is to a lift or the village lane, whether there is ski storage and a hot tub, and where to park. StayCanadian does not add platform booking fees or stand between you and the host; we verify Canadian hosts and send you to their own website. In a compact resort village, booking direct keeps more of your trip supporting the local host.

SilverStar Mountain Resort sits about 20 kilometres northeast of Vernon in the North Okanagan, a compact alpine village instantly recognizable for its brightly painted, Victorian mining-town-style buildings. Runs come right down to the village, so much of the lodging is ski-in/ski-out, and the pedestrian lanes hold shops, restaurants, and lodges in one walkable cluster. The resort is known not only for its downhill terrain but for an extensive cross-country trail network that connects to the neighbouring Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre, one of the largest Nordic areas in Canada. In summer the mountain opens for lift-served biking and alpine hiking. The city of Vernon and the Okanagan lakes lie a short drive downhill, and most rentals put you steps from the snow.
In winter, ski and ride SilverStar's varied downhill terrain, then explore one of the country's great cross-country networks, linked to the adjacent Sovereign Lake trails, along with tubing, snowshoeing, skating, and fat biking. The ski-in/ski-out village makes it easy to step from your door to the lifts and back. In summer, the resort becomes a lift-served mountain-bike park with alpine hiking and wildflower meadows, and the lakes and wineries of the Vernon area are close by down the hill. The colourful village and family-friendly layout give SilverStar a welcoming feel in both seasons.
Best season: Winter (December to March) for downhill and cross-country skiing; summer (June to September) for lift-served mountain biking, alpine hiking, and the Okanagan lakes nearby.
