Tofino View House

The long driveway ends and the house appears, a custom post and beam home set on a private acre with the inlet spread out in front of it and Meares Island rising across the water. At least four massive old-growth cedars stand on the property, and the atmosphere is pure nature and quiet. This is a long-time favourite of returning guests, and it takes only a few minutes on the deck to understand why.

Sleep in Comfort

All three bedrooms are upstairs and every one of them has windows facing the ocean. The first two bedrooms have queen beds and share a bathroom with a tub and shower combination. Down the hallway, the spacious primary bedroom has a king bed, a walk-in closet and a large ensuite with a soaker tub and a slate-tiled shower. Room-darkening shades, extra pillows and blankets and a ceiling fan keep the sleeping easy.

Gather & Unwind

You enter through a large foyer with slate tile floors. The main floor holds the gourmet kitchen, its large windows facing the water and its cupboards stocked with cookware and spices, with a kitchen island and a drip coffee machine. Off the kitchen is a seating area with a cozy wood-burning fireplace, and beyond it the dining room with a large wooden table and direct access to the patio. The media room has two leather couches and a flat screen TV, and there is a full complement of books and board games for slow evenings. Heated slate flooring warms the whole main level.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

Town is 2 km away and world-renowned Chesterman Beach is also 2 km, so surfing, beach walks and dinner out are all a few minutes' drive. Whale watching and water sports leave from Tofino harbour, and the inlet in front of the house is a front-row seat to the wildlife and weather of Clayoquot Sound. A car is recommended.

Thoughtful Touches

Outside, the house sits on a secluded lot with a large grassy front yard, a massive cedar deck with a covered area, patio furniture, a large gas BBQ and an outdoor shower, with the hot tub steps away. A dedicated office with a desk chair and free Wi-Fi handles work days. Full laundry, an iron and board, a drying rack, a fireplace guard and 24-hour contactless check-in cover the practical side. Dogs are considered on request with a $50 cleaning fee. The owners live on site in a detached private house.
