Tofino Swell Lodge - King Room 2

Some Tofino days are for chasing waves and salmon. This room is for what comes after. Newly renovated with a king bed, soft light from windows set high on the wall and a calm, uncluttered feel, it's a quiet retreat inside Tofino Swell Lodge, the family-run waterfront lodge on Olsen Road that has welcomed guests since 1984. The room doesn't face the water, but the lodge does: step into the shared living room or out onto the patio and Clayoquot Sound is right there.

Sleep in Comfort A king bed made up in crisp white linens anchors the room, with bedside lamps and simple coastal touches. You have your own private bathroom with a shower, a TV and Wi-Fi, and the room sleeps two. Without a view to pull you out of bed, it's an easy place to sleep in after a long day on the water.

Gather & Unwind The heart of the lodge is its communal living room, where a wall of windows looks out over the harbour and a fireplace, comfortable sofas and a long dining table invite you to settle in. The fully stocked kitchen is yours to share, whether that means a quick coffee or a proper meal with new friends. Outside, the hot tub, fire pits and garden patio with picnic tables overlook the marina, perfect for watching the boats come in at sunset.

Adventure at Your Doorstep Downtown Tofino's cafés, galleries and restaurants are a 10 to 15 minute walk away. The lodge offers fishing charters and hot springs tours from its own private dock, so a day of salmon fishing or a cruise up the coast to the natural hot springs starts a few steps from your room. Chesterman Beach and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve are an easy drive for surf, beach walks and rainforest trails.

Thoughtful Touches Three generations of the Buhtz family have run this lodge, and the welcome is still personal. The lodge is non-smoking and the rooms are not pet friendly. The room is reached by stairs. Check-in is from 4:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM.
