Tofino Eco Waterfront Condo

You slide open the balcony door and the working harbour of Tofino is right below you: boats coming and going from the First Street Dock, the water of Clayoquot Sound stretching out beyond. This newly renovated 500-square-foot bachelor suite sits in the heart of downtown, and it has been put together with intention, from the second-hand furnishings to the organic bedding.

Sleep in Comfort

The queen bed is tucked into a cozy sleeping nook within the open layout, with a Canadian-made Endy mattress, organic cotton duvet covers and organic linens. A pull-out couch converts to a second queen for a third guest, with bedding stored under the chaise. The bathroom has a tub and shower combination, fresh towels and locally made Sea Wench shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Gather & Unwind

Natural light fills the open-concept living space, and the windows look straight out at the harbour. The full kitchen has a full-size oven and fridge, a dishwasher, toaster oven, Instant Pot, blender and a kitchen island, with cookware, utensils and pantry basics ready to go. Mornings start with a starter supply of Foggy Bean coffee, roasted in Ucluelet, or organic herbal and black teas from Thay Tea. A large smart TV with Telus cable and your own streaming logins covers rainy evenings, and there are board games on hand. The balcony seats two for coffee at sunrise and a drink at sunset.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

You can leave the car in its stall for most of your stay. Restaurants, cafés, boutiques, galleries, grocery stores and markets are all within a few minutes on foot, and kayak launches, picnic spots and harbour access are right nearby. Whale-watching and wildlife tours leave from the docks below. The paved multi-use path runs from Tofino toward Ucluelet for walking and cycling, and bike and e-bike rentals, the Coastal Rides app and BC Transit West Coast routes make it easy to reach the surf beaches and trails of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Two beach chairs and two umbrellas are in the suite for beach days.

Thoughtful Touches

Keypad entry makes self check-in smooth, and Blue Crush is local and available during business hours. One designated outdoor parking stall is included. The building has a ground-floor wheelchair-accessible ramp entrance as well as an upper parking-lot entrance with stairs. A shared card-operated laundry room is on the second floor. The suite runs a composting program with biodegradable liners, and the propane fireplace has been capped to reduce fossil fuel use. One dog under 30 pounds is welcome with a pet fee, with towels, bowls and a small bed provided. A yoga mat is in the closet for slow mornings.
