Tide and Trail

You step into a bright, renovated cottage nestled among the trees on the edge of Ucluelet, all on one level with tall ceilings and a window on every wall. The beach is right there through the trees, and the Wild Pacific Trail is a short walk along the coast. It is a simple, quiet base for two, or a family of four, who want the ocean close and the town within reach.

Sleep in Comfort

The cottage sleeps four with a queen bed and a queen sofa bed in the living room, and it is especially well suited to couples or two-person stays. A pack-and-play sits on the shelf beside the bed for infants, and bedroom access is step-free. The three-piece bathroom pairs a bathtub and shower and is stocked with Carina Organics shampoo, conditioner and hand soap from Vancouver. Linens are washed in unscented, ocean-safe Nellie's soap with no dryer sheets, and extra pillows and blankets are on hand.

Gather and Unwind

The open-concept living and dining space is bright and easy, with a table for four and a large sliding glass door out to the covered deck. There is a TV with basic Telus cable and Roku for your own apps, plus board games for rainy evenings. The kitchen is fully stocked to cook a full meal, with a dishwasher, blender, drip coffee maker with reusable filter, and complimentary coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper and oil. Nellie's biodegradable dish soap and cleaning spray are under the sink, and an electric BBQ and outdoor dining set wait on the deck.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

Terrace Beach is 400 metres away and Little Beach 550 metres, with the lighthouse and the Wild Pacific Trail a kilometre along the shore. Surfing, kayaking, paddling, fishing, whale watching and wildlife viewing are all on offer in Ucluelet, and the multi-use path makes walking or biking into town simple. Tofino is a 35-minute drive up the coast, and the West Coast Transit bus runs between the two towns daily.

Thoughtful Touches

Check-in is contactless. One parking stall is included and additional vehicles can use free street parking. There is a laptop-friendly workspace and Wi-Fi, an iron and board, and a first aid kit and fire extinguisher on site. No laundry is available in the cottage, but a laundromat is downtown. One dog is welcome on request for $50 plus tax (a second may be possible, ask ahead), with dog towels, a small bed and bowls provided; please keep pups off the furniture, kennelled when you are out and away from the shorebirds. The property is entirely non-smoking, including the deck and yard.
