Clip in at the back door

This is what true ski-in/ski-out actually means. Sullivan Stone sits mountain-side on Kimberley Alpine Resort, and this unit backs directly onto the Main Run — you step out, click into your bindings and go. No parking lot, no shuttle, no walking anywhere in ski boots. Come back for lunch and ski out again after.

The main floor

Open-plan living, dining and kitchen, with cozy seating drawn up around a gas fireplace for the end of a long day. Large windows fill the room with light and look straight out at the Rockies, so you can read the conditions without leaving the sofa. The kitchen is properly equipped — oven and stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, blender and crockpot, wine glasses, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery and cooking basics — and the dining table seats the group.

Three bedrooms, six beds

Custom log beds and good mattresses across three bedrooms. Bedroom one has a queen plus a double sofa bed, bedroom two a queen, bedroom three two twins, and there is a second double sofa bed in the living room. Two and a half spotless bathrooms, stocked with quality linens, towels and toiletries.

Two decks, two views

The large rear deck holds the private hot tub and looks out over the ski run — the best seat in the building on a snowy evening. The front deck has a gas BBQ and outdoor seating with views across the Purcells to the Rocky Mountains.

Working, resting, staying

Air conditioning and a ceiling fan for summer, Wi-Fi running at 250+ Mbps, a desk and desk chair if a morning of work has to happen first, smart TV with cable, washer and dryer, board games, and free parking on the premises. Check-in is contactless and available 24 hours, with locks on the bedroom doors.

Kimberley beyond the hill

The Platzl, Kimberley's Bavarian-fronted pedestrian downtown, is a few minutes down the road, along with Kimberley Golf Club. Summer brings the resort's lift-served bike trails, St. Mary Lake and the Kimberley Nature Park.

Cleaning is charged at CA$250 and there is a separate CA$50 hot tub fee.
