Salal Forest

You turn off the road and the trees close in, salal and berry bushes crowding the edges of the deck and birds working the branches overhead. Salal Forest is a simple, clean two-bedroom cabin tucked into the rainforest just outside the bustle of Tofino, and it becomes your landing pad for slow mornings, beach days and evenings on the deck.

Sleep in Comfort

The cabin is all on one level, with roughly 1,000 square feet of easy living. The primary bedroom has a queen bed with soft linens and a calming garden view, and the second bedroom holds another queen, so it works well for families, friends or two couples. A full bathroom with both a bathtub and shower sits between them, stocked with fresh towels, beach towels, a hair dryer and Carina Organics shampoo and conditioner.

Gather & Unwind

A cozy sectional sofa anchors the bright living area, and a smart TV lets you stream Netflix or Prime Video with your own logins. The open layout flows into the dining area, and the fully equipped kitchen has an oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and drip coffee maker, with cookware, dishes, pantry basics and a baking sheet ready to go. A starter supply of freshly roasted Foggy Bean coffee and organic Thay Tea from Ucluelet is waiting for you. Step out onto the spacious private deck for outdoor dinners off the BBQ with the forest all around.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

Naa'Waya'Sum Gardens, formerly the Tofino Botanical Gardens, is steps away. Tin Wis Beach is a short walk or bike ride down the street, and the paved multi-use path connects you to the rest of Tofino's beaches, Ucluelet and the trails of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve without needing the car. Beaches Grocery, Chocolate Tofino and Tacofino are minutes away, and downtown Tofino's harbour, restaurants and whale-watching docks are a short drive.

Thoughtful Touches

Check-in is independent and contactless, with a detailed welcome guide sent two days before arrival. On-site parking fits two vehicles, and a propane fireplace keeps the cabin warm on stormy nights. In-home laundry with basic supplies makes longer stays easy, and monthly stays are welcome in the off season. Dogs are welcome for a fee, with towels, bowls and a small bed included. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher are in place, and Blue Crush is local and reachable by phone.
