## Ski-in/ski-out without the price tag

Rocky Mountain Condos is the affordable end of on-mountain lodging at Kimberley Alpine Resort, and unit 508 is a good example of why it works. The building has ski access to the resort, so the day starts at the door rather than in a car park, and the whole unit is on one level — no stairs at the end of a long day.

## Open plan, and enough beds

Step inside to a bright open-plan living space: a large kitchen with modern appliances running into the dining and living area, which is where a group of eight actually ends up. One bedroom has a queen; the second has two queens, which sleeps four properly. A pullout sofa in the living room takes the last two. Two bathrooms.

## What the building gives you

This is where the complex earns its reputation. Inside there is a laundry room and a kids' playroom, which is worth a great deal on a weather day. Outside there is a seasonal heated pool, a commercial hot tub open year round, and picnic tables scattered through the grounds. All of these are shared building facilities rather than private to the unit — no private hot tub here, and the laundry is communal.

## Summer is the other half of the year

Trickle Creek Golf Course is a minute's drive and there are two more championship courses inside city limits. The Kimberley Nature Park trail network — over 50 km, the largest municipal park in BC — is on the doorstep for hiking and mountain biking. Downtown Kimberley and the Platzl are about three minutes away.
