Granville Island's Public Market is a short trip across the water. Grouse Mountain puts hiking, the gondola and winter skiing within an easy drive. In summer, English Bay and Kitsilano Beach are close enough for an afternoon swim or paddle. The Coal Harbour Seaplane Terminal, just outside, runs sightseeing flights and quick hops to Victoria, Whistler and Nanaimo.
