## Small cabin, big comfort

Mountain Edge #1008 is the affordable on-mountain option at Kimberley Alpine Resort, and it does not pretend otherwise. What it gives you is location and warmth: ski access to the resort from the building, a private entrance so you are not tracking through a lobby, an indoor fireplace, and a mountain view from the deck. For a group of six who intend to spend the day outside, that is most of what matters.

## Three bedrooms, one bathroom

Two of the bedrooms have king beds, which is unusual generosity at this price. The third is a loft — the host describes it as tight but very cosy — with a double. Six people sleep here. Be straight with guests about the single bathroom: it is the real constraint of the unit, and a group that all needs to be on the hill at 8:30 should know that going in.

## Inside

There is an indoor fireplace, a kitchen with an island, a dishwasher, oven, stove, kettle and blender, and a dining table. A smart TV with cable, a CD/DVD player, board games and children's books and toys cover a weather day. Wi-Fi runs above 100 Mbps. There is a bathtub, and stair gates are available for small children.

## Outside and around

The deck and balcony look out at the mountain, and there is a barbecue with outdoor seating and a garden. Kimberley's Nature Park trails, the Platzl, and Trickle Creek golf are all within a short drive.

## Worth knowing

The washer and dryer are shared building facilities rather than in-unit, and there is no air conditioning. Ceiling fans and portable fans are provided. Any hot tub access here is the complex's, not a private tub — confirm with Alpine Lodging before promising one to a guest.
