Marmot's Meadow Chalet

You turn into the gated Nicklaus North community and the noise of the highway disappears behind you. Marmot's Meadow Chalet sits back among fir, lodgepole and ponderosa pines with the 14th fairway running past the deck and Green Lake just beyond. Whistler Village is six minutes down the road, but from the porch it could be an hour.

Sleep in Comfort Five bedrooms sleep ten, and four of them have their own ensuite. The main-floor primary suite has a king bed, vaulted ceilings, a private balcony and an ensuite with a soaking tub and walk-in shower. Upstairs there is a bunk room built for kids. Downstairs, three guest rooms, two with queen beds and one with twins, each open onto their own bathroom. Every room looks out at either forest or fairway.

Gather & Unwind There are two living spaces, which is what makes this chalet work for a group. The upper great room has vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and a stone wood-burning fireplace. The lower family room is the casual one, with plush seating and a built-in entertainment centre for movie nights. The open kitchen carries stainless steel appliances, granite counters and a large island with breakfast seating, and the rustic dining table just off it seats eight. Sliding doors lead to a deck with a gas BBQ and outdoor dining.

Adventure at Your Doorstep Nicklaus North plays May through October and the Table Nineteen clubhouse sits lakeside for dinner after a round. Whistler Blackcomb, the largest ski resort in North America, is four kilometres south, with the Peak 2 Peak Gondola linking the two mountains. Whistler Village and its pedestrian streets are the same short drive. Beyond that: hiking, mountain biking, ziplining, paddleboarding on Green Lake and whitewater rafting, depending on the season you catch.

Thoughtful Touches Self check-in with an electronic keypad and a code that expires when you leave. A mud room that takes ski boots and golf bags without them ending up in the hallway.
