- A wood-fired sauna on the deck sets up the classic routine of a hot sweat followed by a plunge into the ocean.

- A rowboat with life jackets is provided for exploring the bay, with shoreline and forest trail hikes right from the float.
About this stay
The boat pulls away from Tofino harbour and within minutes the town falls behind, replaced by the green walls of Clayoquot Sound. Lagoon Float Camp is moored in a remote bay where the only neighbours are old-growth cedar, calm inlet water, seabirds and the occasional passing seal. This is a place built to unplug, and it starts working on you before you step onto the deck.
Sleep in Comfort
Your bedroom is a 14-foot canvas bell tent set up for two, with all bedding and linens provided and a propane heater for sleeping and lounging on cool coastal nights. The tent is the heart of the camp, a soft, glowing space at the end of the day when the water goes still.
Gather & Unwind
A modern outbuilding beside the tent holds a fully equipped kitchen, stocked with basics like tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, olive oil and vinegar, and a full bathroom. There is solar electricity, running water at ambient temperature and plenty of fresh drinking water. Deck space wraps the camp for reading, watching the tide move or simply sitting in the quiet. The wood-fired sauna is the ritual here: heat up, step out, plunge into the ocean, repeat. Bring your own food and drinks, and feel free to pack a deck of cards or a book. There is no TV, and that is the point.
Adventure at Your Doorstep
A rowboat with life jackets is yours to explore the bay. You can hike the shoreline or the forest trail behind the camp, and additional boat trips to nearby beaches, hikes and crabbing spots can be arranged before arrival or at check-in. Back in Tofino, the surf beaches, restaurants and galleries of the Pacific Rim coast are waiting for the day you return.
Thoughtful Touches
Round-trip boat transportation from Tofino is included in your stay. The camp is off grid with boat access only and no caretaker on site, but there is 3G cellular coverage and marine radio contact, and the hosts are reachable throughout your stay. Guests need basic swimming ability, and the camp welcomes children aged 6 and up. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM to fit the boat schedule.
If you have ever wanted to fall asleep to the sound of water lapping under the floor, Lagoon Float Camp is where you do it.
