You step through the entry and climb to a bright, open second level that is entirely yours. Mountain and peekaboo harbour views fill the living area windows, and everything around you is brand new, from the custom kitchen to the sheets on the beds. Out back, a Western Red Cedar sauna waits at the side of the house.

Sleep in Comfort

Three bedrooms give a group of six room to spread out. The primary bedroom has a king bed and its own ensuite with a walk-in shower, and the two other bedrooms each have a queen. Beds and pillows were chosen for comfort, room darkening shades keep mornings quiet, and air conditioning keeps summer nights cool. The main bathroom has a tub and shower.

Gather and Unwind

The open concept living area is set up for slow evenings together. Cook in the fully equipped custom kitchen, sit down at the dining table for six, then settle in by the electric fireplace with the 50 inch TV, cable and Netflix. Original local art hangs throughout, with a few Vancouver Island pieces to spot. When the weather turns, the heated covered deck lets you BBQ, dine and lounge outside anyway, with Lone Cone Mountain and the Mount Mariner glacier across the water.

The sauna is the real treat. It seats six, and there is a cold plunge tub beside it if you are feeling adventurous, along with an outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

The house sits in a quiet new subdivision a few minutes walk from downtown Tofino, so restaurants, shops, parks and guiding outfits are all close. Tonquin Beach is walkable, and the bike path connects you to the other beaches along the peninsula. In summer, a free hop on hop off beach shuttle runs between the village and the Visitor Centre, with a stop a few blocks away.

Thoughtful Touches

Two free parking spots and an electric vehicle charger are yours for the stay. Private interior and exterior storage keeps bikes and surfboards secure. There is a washer and dryer, a laptop friendly workspace, and zero waste, ocean-friendly shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and dish soap supplied as part of the home's sustainable accommodation program. Two long-term tenants live in their own separate space at the back of the main level, and you may hear daytime construction in the new subdivision.
