Fortress – 2 Bedroom Suite with Barrel Sauna

Cochrane sits in the foothills west of Calgary, and Fortress is built for slowing down there. It is a two-bedroom upper suite in the Sunset Ridge area with a spacious, serene layout and one standout feature: a barrel sauna in the backyard.

Sleep in Comfort

Two bedrooms sleep four, with one full bathroom that includes a tub. Extra pillows and blankets are provided, along with linens and a hair dryer.

Gather & Unwind

The living space is calm and roomy, with a fireplace for cold evenings and a TV for winding down. The kitchen has a stove, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, plus cooking basics, dishes and wine glasses, and the dining table gives you a proper place to eat. Then head out back to the barrel sauna and let the heat do its work. The backyard is set aside for sauna use only, and the owner uses the sauna from time to time.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

Cochrane is a natural stopping point on the way to the mountains, with the Bow River running through town and the Rockies further west. Calgary is an easy drive the other way when you want the city. It works for a quiet weekend, a longer stay or a base for day trips in either direction. Pack a lunch for a drive into the foothills, then come back from a day on the trails and let the sauna and the fireplace take care of the rest.

Thoughtful Touches

Keypad self check-in. In-suite washer and dryer. Free parking on site and on the street. Pets welcome with owner approval, for $52.50 per pet, per stay. A first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in place. Short and long stays welcome. Early check-in from 1 PM and late check-out until 2 PM can be requested for a fee, subject to availability. The primary guest must be 25 or older, and quiet hours start at 10 PM out of respect for the neighbours.
