First Light One Bedroom

First Light earns its name every morning. You wake in an original post-and-beam home on the Tofino inlet as the sun rises over Meares Island and spreads gold across the water. This listing gives you the ground floor of the house, with the yard and private beach to explore, and it is available in the slower season from roughly November to April and midweek, when the full three-bedroom home is not booked.

Sleep in Comfort

The ground-floor bedroom has a queen bed, forest views and room-darkening shades. The bathroom sits across the hall, stocked with refillable shampoo, conditioner and hand soap, a hair dryer, four body towels and hot tub towels. A pull-out couch in the living room sleeps two more, for four guests in total. The upstairs is off limits on this listing.

Gather and Unwind

Large windows greet you at the door with the inlet beyond. The open-concept living room has sweeping ocean views, a 55-inch smart TV with Netflix, Prime and Crave logins, the house's own Spotify account, games, books and playing cards. A set of binoculars waits on the bar cart by the window, and orcas, seals, bears and wolves have all been spotted from here. The kitchen is big enough for several cooks, with basic spices, an immersion blender, mixer and chef's knives, and an ocean view over the sink. The dining table seats six. Coffee is taken seriously, with a drip machine, grinder, Breville espresso maker, Le Creuset French press and organic Thay Tea.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

Bring your paddle boards, check the tides and launch straight from the property into the inlet, keeping your life jacket on and telling someone your plan, because the ocean here is busy with boats and current. Downtown Tofino is close by for restaurants, surf shops and the harbour, and the beaches of Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and Long Beach are a short drive down the highway.

Thoughtful Touches

Soak in the six-person hot tub on the deck or fire up the wood-burning cedar sauna, with instructions and a waiver on site and water shoes recommended for cold dips. The fire pit by the beach has four Adirondack chairs, and wood bundles can be arranged ahead. An outdoor couch and hammock come out seasonally since the patio is uncovered. Parking fits one to two cars with an EV charger for your use. Families get a baby gate, play pen, high chair and step stool. Your dog is welcome with towels, bowls and a bed. The owner lives on the property in a separate residence and respects your privacy. The house is on septic, so only toilet paper goes down the toilet.
