Straight out to the runs Chicamon Springs sits on the mountain at Kimberley Alpine Resort, and unit 103 is on the ground floor of it. You step out, click in, and you are skiing. There is no shuttle, no parking lot, no morning ritual of loading gear into a cold car. When your legs are done, the walk back to a hot tub is about as short as it gets.

One level, ground floor The whole condo is on a single level and you enter it without climbing anything. If you are travelling with a grandparent, a toddler in a stroller, or simply a great deal of ski equipment, this is the difference between an easy arrival and a slow one. Two bedrooms, each with a queen, and two full bathrooms, so two couples get a real door between them instead of a sofa bed and an apology.

Your own hot tub The hot tub on the patio is private to this unit, not a shared resort tub with posted hours and a crowd at four o'clock. That matters more than it sounds like it should after a day on Vimy Ridge or the North Star runs.

Summer works too This is one of the few units in this collection with air conditioning, and the Wi-Fi runs at 250+ Mbps. Together that makes it genuinely usable as a summer base or a working week rather than a winter-only booking. Trickle Creek Golf Resort is minutes away, the Kimberley Nordic Centre trails switch to hiking and mountain biking once the snow goes, and the Bavarian-themed Platzl in town has restaurants and a brewery.

For families A baby high chair and stair gates are available, and check-in is contactless and available 24 hours, so a late arrival after a long drive from Calgary or Cranbrook is not a problem.
