Black Mountain Golf Getaway

Black Mountain Golf Club is right there at the end of the street, and the fairways and valley views come with it. This is a private ground-level suite on Lochness Street with its own entrance, one king bedroom and an open living area that takes in light all morning. The neighbourhood is residential and quiet, which is exactly the point.

Sleep in Comfort

The bedroom holds a king bed dressed in crisp white sheets and coral-patterned linens, with a vintage wooden dresser, a round mirror and a window that lets the daylight in. Extra pillows and blankets are in the closet along with hangers and clothing storage. Out in the living room the plush white sofa folds down into a sofa bed for two more guests, so a group of four fits without anyone drawing the short straw. The suite sits below the main house and holds its cool through summer, and a portable air conditioner is there when you want it.

Gather & Unwind

The living area is open-concept with soft-toned wood floors, a modern black accent chair, side tables and a large flat-screen smart TV mounted on the wall for a slow evening in. The kitchen next door is modern and properly equipped, with stainless steel appliances, a full-size refrigerator, an electric range with oven, a built-in microwave and a dishwasher. Cookware, utensils, dishware, spices, a toaster, an electric kettle, a coffee maker and wine glasses are all in the cupboards. The dining table seats four, close enough to the kitchen that whoever is cooking stays in the conversation.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

You are in one of Kelowna's more scenic corners. Black Mountain Trail and the Layer Cake Mountain hikes start close by, and The Vibrant Vine, Kitsch Wines and Tantalus Vineyards are each a short drive for a tasting. Mission Creek Greenway and the Myra Canyon Trestles make good family days out. Downtown Kelowna, with its lakefront parks, restaurants and shops, is about twenty minutes away. Fishing, swimming and other water sports fill in the rest of the calendar.

Thoughtful Touches

Laundry is in the suite, so you can pack lighter. High-speed Wi-Fi and heating are included, parking is free with street parking available, and the private bathroom has a full-size shower, a vanity and fresh towels waiting. Check-in is contactless. Two things worth knowing before you book: there is no guest access to the backyard, and a cat lives in the main house upstairs.
