Big White Basecamp | Slope Access + Modern Comfort

Big White Basecamp is on the eighth floor of the Moguls building, level with the ski-in/ski-out doors at the back. You ski off Moguls Track, come in through the floor eight entrance and walk down the hall. Inside, the finish is rustic-modern rather than old ski condo: wood panelling, quartz counters, stainless appliances and a lot of glass.

Sleep in Comfort

Two real bedrooms, which is the difference between this unit and the smaller ones in the building. Bedroom one has a queen bed, soft lighting and plenty of storage, and works well for a couple or a solo traveller who wants a door to close. Bedroom two is a purpose-built bunk room with two twin bunk beds, individual reading lamps and the same rustic-modern styling, sleeping four on its own. The single bathroom is bright, with a large vanity and counter space, plush white towels and a fully tiled walk-in steam-style shower with a bench in it.

Gather & Unwind

The living room has a large leather sectional facing a stone-framed electric fireplace, with a mounted flat-screen above and expansive sliding doors along one wall. Those doors open onto the private balcony, which has seating and shelter from the weather and sweeping views across the Monashee Mountains and the village. The kitchen island seats four at the bar, which is where most groups end up between the pan and the conversation.

Adventure at Your Doorstep

The building sits just above the Village on the Moguls Track run. Park once and leave the car. Five minutes on foot gets you to restaurants, the shops, the market and the Gondola down to Happy Valley, with Underground Pizza, Fourth Ace Smokehouse, Sasquatch Sushi and the Cabin Kitchen and Bar all close by. In summer the same location serves lift-accessed hiking. Kelowna International Airport is about 55 minutes away, with daily shuttles through ski season, and one dedicated underground stall comes with the unit.

Thoughtful Touches

Self check-in runs through a secure lockbox, so late arrivals are simple. In-suite laundry with a washer, dryer and drying rack handles a week of base layers, and there is an iron and board. For families there are games, puzzles, books and children's drinkware, and a Pack and Play with bedding on request. The building adds a communal hot tub and sauna plus ping pong, foosball and shuffleboard, a ski wax room and ski lockers.

It is a comfortable, well-finished base for a small group who want the slope out the back and the village a short walk down.
